Young Learners Christian Academy is founded on the principles of the Holy Bible and the belief that Jesus Christ is the son of God. We truly believe that it takes a village to raise a child.
Young Learners is “A Home Away From Home” for children in our care. It is our mission to partner with parents/guardians to help nurture the gifts that God has placed on the inside of every child that enters our doors by providing the tools needed to help discover those gifts through their physical, social, emotional, and spiritual development.
Young Learners is a 2 Star Quality Rated center that offers care for children 6 weeks to 12 years of age. Our services include full-time care, Before and After School, and summer camp. Transportation to local schools is included in weekly tuition. Morning transportation(non school age children) and evening transportation to home are available for additional fees. Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 5:00am until 6:30pm. Extended care may be available after 6:30pm for additional fees, restrictions apply.
Lolita Young is a wife and mother of 2 married children, and six grandchildren. Obeying the call of God on her life to help nurture children, she left the corporate world after working 15 years at the Internal Revenue Service where she learned a variety of skills including management. Without any knowledge of the childcare business, she left that job in 2003 and began Young Learners in her home. She began to educate herself in early childcare. She obtained her Childcare Development Associate Credential in 2010 and continues to educate herself on a yearly basis. By faith, she walked into her current location with only eight students in December 2011. She believes that every child deserves quality care regardless of the economic status of their families. Although, she is the visionary, Lolita understands that she can not carry out the assignment by herself. She is surrounded by a team of dedicated staff that helps support the vision that God has given her.
